La nausea Spanish Edition JeanPaul Sartre 9788420652764 Books Reviews
Bad edition!!!!!
I'm not sure that the publishers of this translated Spanish version were not making fun of Sartre when they cropped the image of face posted on the back cover to reveal only his lazy eyes. Also, the hyphen in his name "Paul-Sartre" is continually omitted, not that it matters. But after first reading the French and English versions, I believe that some of the translations here deviate from the original meaning, which is a problem for new readers just picking it up. For example, page 60, "à chaque instant je tiens de tout mon cœur" or "I cling/am holding on to each instant/moment with all my heart", but here the Spanish says, "Me aferró a cada instante con toda el alma", or in English, "Each instant clings to/grips me with all my heart/soul," or in French, "Chaque instant me tient de tout mon cœur". In general, the translation is very good, there are just a couple of things here and there that make me question. Another issue with this text is that the beginning "Note from the editors," which was a note from the fictional finders of Antoine Roquentin's diary (not from the perspective of editors in reality), is not included, which leads me to believe that the translator didn't even read it or think that it could have been part of the story in any way.
