For this review, I read The Marriage Agenda by Susan Ballance, which was my first book by this author.Chloe was dumped by Knox because he did not want to commit to her. I think it was fear. Fear that he will be like his father. Fear that he would treat his wife like his father treated his mother. Knox needs to think that no, I won't be like my father and yes, I can see a future with Chloe. Men can be stupid at times. Knox is nothing like his father.
Chloe Lochlan's job is on the line. If she doesn't grab a big headline, she'll be ousted from her gig at the major newspaper where she works as a reporter. Knox's offer of marriage chills her to the bone. He already crushed her heart once and she has no intention of letting it happen again. But being with him gives her the kind of access to top tier social events rarely granted to media, access that could land her the story of a lifetime. When the truth she uncovers threatens to destroy the man she still loves, will she bury the story...or his career?
What would you do if the man you loved dumped you due to his fear of commitment and he can not love and gives you this marriage proposal? Would you agree? Knox promises her a story out of their marriage. What story will Chloe find? Would it ruin her husband and in laws? If it did, could Chloe do it?
This book had me hooked from page one. I love how we meet Knox and Chloe. Chloe was set up on a blind date with this man that I think was more interested in Knox!! I was set up on a blind date by 2 friends and I ended up marrying him. Those 2 friends were the best man and maid of honor at our wedding. That was almost 19 years ago.

I expected this to be tried and true along the lines of a Harlequin Presents and for a while I wasn't particularly surprised at it. But the ending. Oh, the ending was absolutely incredible. I don't think I've seen a gesture like Knox's in a book before and I absolutely, totally, fell in love with him in the end.
Chloe - She's who she is and makes no bones about the fact that she's a reporter. Knox proposes to her KNOWING she's a reporter and she never hides the fact that she's out to find a good story, and if the marriage helps her so be it. Yes, she's attracted to him, but she's up front that she'll report if she finds a story. Knox knows that, even providing her with files so she sees he's being upfront with her too. And when she finds her story....wow. I love love LOVE what she does with it.
Knox - A bit standoffish and aggravating with his whole never intend to fall in love thing, but that's part of this kind of novel. I liked that he was an honest man, even as a politician. He was wealthy, but also didn't hesitate to wear jeans and a t-shirt to be comfortable.
There were lovely secondary characters who didn't overshadow the story (campaign manager hopefully will one day get a story, and Knox's mom was such a gracious woman for the most part).
The romance moves along at a very nice pace and some of Knox's gestures were fantastic...I loved the garden plants he sends Chloe when her job changes after their marriage. Overall, this was just a very enjoyable read.
And then there's the ending. Wow. I absolutely (yes, I said this earlier) LOVED the ending and what Knox and Chloe do for each other. Such love...
Check out this book. You won't be sorry.

I enjoyed this short story of Knox and Chloe. They are sexy, feisty and stubborn. I enjoyed their character and their development over the course of the story.
Knox hurt Chloe a year ago and wants to have his father's seat in Politics. Now in order to get that seat, to make his career look better..he needs Chloe to be his wife. Can he get her to agree to the marriage with no love other than then undeniable lust/chemistry they have between them?
Chloe is a damn good reporter. She was dumped by Knox a year ago. She's been hurt and hasn't wanted anyone since him. Now all of a sudden Knox comes back into her life wanting her as his wife.. but with no love involved. But what happens with it all and her own agenda?
You will love Knox. He's sweet. He says he doesn't do love but all the fabulous things he does and says... shows something else. A politician's life isn't fun and you can see why he does what he's done and the reason's behind it. However, despite it all he's only had eyes for Chloe and no one else.
Chloe has is amazing. I love her personality and the way she got Knox. I loved their games together and the chemistry that flowed between them and the love she still harbored and wished for. She never wanted anyone to get hurt... but what's worse your career or waiting on a man to never love you? You will love her and adore her and the games she plays with Knox... yummy yummy!
This book is steamy, sexy, feisty, filled with omissions, political propaganda and more that will interest you up until the very end.
And that end.. I enjoyed it immensely! I just loved the transformation and it all! Swoon and just sexy!
If you like sexy men, sexy feisty women, chemistry, sexual games that will make you laugh... then this book is for you!
It's a fabulous short story! Grab a copy you will be happy you did!
